• 12/3/14 City Council Actions in Brief

Major actions taken by the Council at its regular meeting on December 3, 2014 include:

❖ Swearing in Mayor Kampe and Council members Cuneo, Fischer, and Peake.

❖ Issuing a proclamation thanking Alan Cohen for his eight years of distinguished service on the Council.

❖ Holding a second reading and adopting an ordinance approving a pilot program increasing established parking limits in the downtown, allowing the limits for most parking spaces to increase from two to three hours during the holiday season.

❖ Considering changes to the City’s outdoor dining regulations and directing staff to bring back to the Council, an ordinance for introduction and first reading at the December 17 meeting. The proposed changes will expand the opportunities for restaurants to offer outdoor dining, including alcoholic service where permitted by ABC.

❖ Setting the schedule of  City Council meetings for 2015, including a workshop on Saturday, January 10.

The agenda reports and supporting documents for all of these actions are on the City’s website

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm. Click here for more information on the Beach Report Card. Click the name of the beach when it pops up for more details, or choose a beach below.
