• Arrests Made in Del Monte Beach Murder

    On Saturday morning, March 14, 2015 at 02:07 a.m, Abraham Lizama was shot to death on the beach near Beach Way and Tide Ave. After an intense investigation, beginning with the initial response from Monterey patrol officers, as well as follow-up conducted by the Monterey Police Department Investigations Division, Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team (PRVNT), Salinas Police Department and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, two arrests have been made.

    Arrested were:

    Victor Hugo Ramos, 22 years old, from Salinas.
    Ramos was charged with murder with a gang enhancement. He was arrested on 3/19/15 in Salinas.

    Esmeralda Alejandra Garcia, 19 years old, from Salinas.
    Garcia was charged with accessory to murder with a gang enhancement. She was arrested on 3/18/15.

    Formal arraignment is set for Wednesday, March 25 in Monterey County Superior Court.
