• Bank Robbery Suspect is a 78 Year-Old Greenfield Man

    The Monterey Police Department can now release the identity of the suspect arrested in connection with the armed robbery of the Bank of America, 200 E. Franklin, on September 26, 2013.

    Sergio Valderrama, a 78 year old resident of Greenfield, was booked into the County Jail yesterday evening. He was charged with Robbery, Resisting Arrest, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm with Intent to Commit a Felony, and Carrying a Loaded Firearm in Public. Bailed was set at $45,000.

    Monterey Police Detectives continue to investigate this matter in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigations. No further information is available at this time.
