• Baseball: Pacific Grove defeats St. Francis Central Coast Catholic in Walk off Fashion

    Pacific Grove defeated St. Francis Catholic 7-6 Thursday afternoon, on a Daniel Harrington sacrifice fly, to move to 5-1 overall on the season. [03-19-15].

    For the third straight game, the Breakers went into extra innings. The Breakers won two of those games, only falling to James Logan High of Union City 5-4.

    The Breakers found themselves down 6-3 after the top of the sixth had concluded, but was able to score 2 runs in the bottom half of the sixth and 1 more in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.

    After Breakers pitcher Eric Boerner shut the Sharks down in the top of the eighth, they had a chance to win it. With Chris Fife sitting on third base, Daniel Harrington hit the sacrifice fly to score Fife and propel the Breakers to victory.

    Chris Fife led the Breakers, going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and scoring 2 runs. Anthony Coppla went 3 for 5 and scored a run, while winning pitcher Eric Boerner went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and scored a run in the Breakers victory.
