    Game 2:

The Breakers had a 3-0 lead after three innings of play, but eventually fell to the Davis Blue Devils in ten innings on Monday night. [03-30-15]

After losing their first game, Chris Fife got things started on the right foot for the Breakers in game two. Fife led off the bottom of the first with a home run over the right field wall to put the Breakers up 1-0.

In the bottom of the second, Fife again stepped up and doubled to right field, scoring Noah Dalhamer. Putting Pacific Grove up 2-0 after two innings.

After Kacee Takasaki pitched another scoreless inning in the third, Eric Boerner led off the bottom half of the inning with a walk. Dan Harrington then singled, followed by a Colton Moore single to load the bases. Boerner would then give the Breakers a 3-0 lead after the Nic Boatman hit.

Going into the top of the fourth, the Breakers held a 3-0 advantage over the Blue Devils. Takasaki though, who pitched three scoreless innings, would give up 3 runs in the inning to help Davis tie the game up at 3-3.

The game would then become a pitcher’s duel, as Brendan Pohl of Davis, who took over in the bottom of the fourth, would pitch the next five innings for the Blue Devils. Pohl struck out 5 and only gave up 2 hits in 5 ⅓ innings of work. For the Breakers, it was more about team pitching. Dylan Dutcher pitched one inning, while giving up 1 hit and 0 runs. Dan Harrington then took over and struck out 5 Davis batters, while giving up 2 hits and 0 runs in two innings of work.

In the top of the ninth inning, Eric Boerner took over and got out the Davis batters, but in the tenth, Boerner gave up 3 hits and 2 runs to the Blue Devils, helping them take a 5-3 lead into the bottom half of the inning.

In the bottom of the tenth, the Breakers looked to make one last comeback. But Harrington, Dalhamer, and Donlan all struck out to end the game.

Chris Fife led the Breakers at the plate, going 2 for 4 with a home run, 2 RBI’s and scoring a run in the Breakers loss.

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm. Click here for more information on the Beach Report Card. Click the name of the beach when it pops up for more details, or choose a beach below.
