• CHP Looking for Witnesses to October Collision

    On October 12, 2014 at 2:45pm, emergency personnel received a call of a vehicle collision on SR-183 near Castroville.  Upon arrival, it was determined to be a head-on collision with major injuries.  In total 6 people were injured in this collision, three of which remain in the hospital’s intensive care unit, including a 16 year old female from Watsonville.  The driver of one vehicle (22 year old, Pedro Alonzo-Rodriguez, of Salinas) was determined by officers at the scene to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for felony DUI. The CHP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating witnesses to this collision.  If you have any information on this collision, please contact Officer Rodriguez at 831-796-2160
