• Escaped Prisoner Captured in Seaside

    Late on Dec. 24 or early Dec. 25, Freddie Swanson, 24, a transient escaped from Monterey County Jail where he was awaiting court appearance on pending charges. S.T.I.N.G. agents, working with officers from P.R.V.N.T. learned that Swanson was in Seaside inside a business. He was taken into custody on Jan. 11 without incident and returned to jail.

    Added charges of escape and narcotics violations were added to the charges he faces. He was in possession of methamphetamine and heroin when arrested.
