• Fatal crash on Hwy 1 blocks traffic

    KSBW TV reports that one person died in a crash on Highway 1 in Monterey on Fri., March 29.

    A car swerved into a tree near Highway 1’s Munras Avenue off-ramp on the southbound side at 11:35 a.m. The collision caused traffic to gridlock for miles, backing up from Monterey to Seaside. California Highway Patrol officers kept one lane of Hwy. 1 closed until 2:30 p.m.

    The name of the driver has not been released.
