• Giants made the following roster moves prior to today’s game against the Dodgers:

    Dodgers Clayton Kershaw. Buster Posey catching for S.F.
    IF Kelby Tomlinson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list today (retroactive to yesterday) with a left thumb sprain.
    ·         Tomlinson suffered the sprain on Wednesday against Boston while diving on a play in the seventh inning.
    IF Ramiro Pena (#1) has had his contract purchased from triple-A Sacramento and has been added to the Giants’ 25-man roster.
    ·         Pena batted .304 (58-for-191) with 14 extra base hits (nine doubles, one triple, four home runs) and 19 RBI in 49 games with the River Cats this season…the switch-hitter batted .326 (43-for-132) against right-handers and .254 (15-for-59) against lefties.
    ·         Pena hasn’t appeared in the Majors since 2014 with the Atlanta Braves.
    ·         His bio can be found on page 170 of the Giants’ 2016 media guide.
    RHP Sergio Romo has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Pena on the Giants’ 40-man roster.
