Pacific Grove picked up right where they left off on Monday’s victory over Salinas, by jumping out to a 4-0 lead at the end of one quarter.

Kane Miller, Jason Leach, and Alex Villacris all added second quarter goals to give the Breakers a commanding 7-0 half time lead.

Defensively, the Breakers have been playing well of late, giving up only 2 goals in their last four games. “I think we’re playing really good,” Jason Leach said about his teams’ performance during their now 6 game win streak. “We’ve made some tweaks here and there, but I think we’re really starting to come together.”

Pacific Grove didn’t give up a goal until late in the third quarter after they were already winning 9-0. That would be York’s only goal of the game, as the Breakers added 4 more fourth quarter goals to finish off the game.

“Any confidence we can get is going to be good for us,” Leach said about Stevenson looming next week. With the season almost over, Leach said that “we keep getting better and hopefully we will peak at the right time.”

Leach played an all-around good game for the Breakers, scoring 4 goals, 2 assists, and 7 groundballs.

The Breakers (10-2, 6-1) will next play at home against Harbor (0-5, 0-5) on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm.
