• Lane closure alert for area highways

    Following are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, June 29, through Sunday, July 6, 2014. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

    Highway 1 – Big Sur Coast: July 1 – July 2
    Daytime drainage work along Highway 1 between Lime Creek Bridge and Castro Canyon Bridge from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.

    Highway 1 – Big Sur: July 1 – July 2
    Daytime paving along Highway 1 between the Juan Higuera Creek Bridge and the Andrew Molera Park entrance from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes

    Highway 1 – Big Sur: July 1 – July 2
    Daytime shoulder work along Highway 1 between Hurricane Point and Palo Colorado from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes

    Highway 1 – Carmel Highlands: July 1 – July 2
    Daytime drainage work along Highway 1 between Granite Canyon Bridge and Arroyo Del Mar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes

    Highway 1 – Seaside: June 30
    Electrical work on the northbound Highway 1 off-ramp at Sand Dunes Drive from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes

    Highway 68 – Monterey: June 30 – July 2
    Nighttime shoulder work on westbound Highway 68 between Route 218 and Olmsted Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 minutes
