• Monterey Library to Celebrate Little Free Library…and Year of the Rooster

    The Friends of the Monterey Public Library have purchased and installed their second “Little Free Library,” to be unveiled Wed., Feb. 1 at Montecito Park in Monterey next to the Monterey Fire Station 3 (Dela Vina at Montecito) at 4:30 p.m. The residents of the Villa Del Monte neighborhood will now have reading materials available to them in their own park.
    The Monterey Public Library Bookmobile in celebration of the Chinese New Year will begin their program including Lion Dragon dancers promptly at 4:45 pm.
    This Park has received Monterey Neighborhood Improvement Funds along with Federal grants totaling over $300,000 for a complete renovation this spring. An additional grant of $250,000 is in the process of application.
