• More info in Pacific Grove’s app

Pacific Grove released their free new mobile application today, which allows users to quickly get information about the community, find businesses, learn about upcoming events and report issues using their Android or iPhone device.

Businesses who are listed on Yelp! in Pacific Grove are automatically listed for free in the applications Shop & dine feature. The app can then provide users more information about the business, offer directions from the user’s current location, or to call the business with a simple touch of the screen.

The application also allows end users to report issues to the City. For instance, if a user encounters a traffic hazard like a pothole or a malfunctioning traffic signal they can send a photo, audio file, or video of the problem through the app and the app will automatically ensure that the right person receives the information. Users can even request feedback on the resolution of the reported problem.

In the coming weeks, the application will be updated to allow users to receive “push” notifications. This will allow users who choose to receive notifications to receive information about City events/meetings, construction projects, road closures and more. It can be an important tool to inform citizens in emergencies.

The application was developed by MyCommunityMobile who has also developed applications for Aliso Viejo, Placintia, Mendota and Needles as well as a number of communities in MD, MI, IL and OK. To learn more about the developer, visit MyCommunityMobileApp.com

Upcoming features include “Near Me” locating of businesses, Push Notifications, turn-by-turn navigation and video public service announcements.

The application is currently available at no cost to users on Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store and can be downloaded for free. People that wish to download the application can visit their platform’s store and enter Pacific Grove in the search engine.

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm. Click here for more information on the Beach Report Card. Click the name of the beach when it pops up for more details, or choose a beach below.
