    Construction of the Holman Hwy 68 Roundabout will require the night-time closure of Westbound Hwy 68 at the bridge over Hwy 1 starting the night of Sun., Aug. 28 through the morning of Thurs., Sept. 1 and continuing Tues. Sept, 6 and Wed. Sept. 7. No work will be done Fri. – Mon. of the Labor Day holiday weekend.

    Motorists from Northbound Hwy 1 needing to access Holman Hwy 68 will have the following detour:

    Cars: exit northbound Hwy 1 at Munras Ave

    Make a U-turn at Soledad Dr and return to southbound Hwy 1

    Exit to Holman Hwy 68

    Large trucks: exit northbound Hwy 1 at Aguajito Rd

    Make a U-turn at Aguajito and return to Southbound Hwy 1

    Exit to Holman Hwy 68

    Work hours are 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

    Emergency vehicles will have full access over the bridge at all times.

    The CHP will be onsite to assist with traffic control.

    Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10-15 minutes.

    The Holman Hwy 68 Roundabout Project will relieve congestion at the intersection of Hwy 68/Hwy 1, and will improve access to the Community Hospital, Pacific Grove, Monterey and Pebble Beach. The project is a partnership between the City of Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach Company, the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District, the County of Monterey, Caltrans, and the Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC).

    Full Night-time Closure of Hwy 68 Bridge over Hwy 1 on Sept. 8
    Construction of Holman Hwy 68 Roundabout will require the full night-time closure of eastbound and westbound Hwy 68 at the bridge over Hwy 1 on the night of Sept. 8 from 7PM – 6AM

    Motorists from Southbound Hwy 1 and Eastbound Hwy 68 needing to access the east side of Hwy 1 will have the following detour on Sept. 8 (7PM – 6AM):
    Cars: take southbound Hwy 1 to Carpenter St. Make a U-turn and continue north on Hwy 1

    Large trucks: take southbound Hwy 1 to Ocean Ave.
    Turn left onto Ocean Ave. (toward Carmel High School)
    Turn Left onto Carmel Hills Dr
    Turn Left onto Flanders Dr
    Make a Right onto northbound Hwy 1

    Motorists from Northbound Hwy 1 needing to access Holman Hwy 68 will have the following detour:
    Cars: exit northbound Hwy 1 at Munras Ave.
