• Sobernares: 79,000 acres, 60% contained

    Monterey Fire personnel were released from the Soberanes fire on August 15, 2016. Crews moved directly from the Soberanes fire to various other wildland fires around the state:

    Clayton fire in Lake County (burned 3,929 acres and is at 55% containment)

    Chimney fire in San Luis Obispo County (burned 8,300 acres and is at 30% containment)

    BlueCut fire located in San Bernardino County (burned 31,689 acres and is at 4% containment)
    There are currently nine significant wildfires burning within California.
