• Softball: Breakers Score 2 Runs in the 7th to Beat Gonzales

    Pacific Grove picked up their first league victory in exciting fashion on Thursday night, by scoring 2 runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Gonzales 4-2. [03-26-15]

    The Breakers took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the third, before the Spartans scored 2 runs of their own to tie it up at 2-2.

    The score would hold true until the top of the seventh, when Pacific Grove would score 2 runs and hold on to the victory.

    Freshman Danielle Pasquariello led the Breakers at the plate, going 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Christina Lucido also went 1 for 2 with 1 RBI and scored 1 run.

    Sophia Baker won her fourth game of the season for the Breakers, only giving up 2 earned runs and 8 hits with 2 strike outs.

    Pacific Grove (4-8, 1-3) will next play in the Steinbeck Classic Softball Tournament on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
